Big Ditch Brewing Company is seeking an energetic and motivated Lead Packaging Technician to join our operations staff.
The primary responsibilities of this position will be packaging our beer for sale and distribution. This position has added responsibilities for the packaging crew members including safety, quality, performance and teamwork.
Duties:
• Operates, maintains, and repairs all aspects and functionality of the packaging equipment.
• Train packaging technicians on the proper use, handling, and safety of equipment and machinery.
• Perform daily clean-up and organization of the manufacturing area.
• Analyze malfunctions in the packaging area and make continuous improvements when needed.
• Evaluate and adjust packaging procedures as necessary.
• Ensures packaging team members adhere to all regulations, including the proper usage of PPE as well as Standard Operating Procedures.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably in packaging. Formal education, a degree in brewery operations, or homebrewing experience is a plus. Demonstrated working knowledge of mechanical systems related to packaging processes, equipment, and machinery. Strong mechanical aptitude for equipment repairs and trouble shooting. Works well both independently and cooperatively with others. PLC trouble shooting and electrical knowledge preferred. Must be detail oriented and quality focused. Must be willing to work in a fast-paced, team oriented, and fun environment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
