  • Seeking Head Brewer - Minnesota

ENKI Brewing opened for business in 2013 to fulfill our mission of “making the world a friendlier place, two beers at a time.” By 2016 we had made so many new friends that we outgrew our original home in a 100 year old creamery building. We now occupy 20,000 sq. ft. within a 45,000 sq. ft. building that will accommodate long-term growth and establish ENKI as destination brewery in the Southwest metro MSP area. Our brewery will easily accommodate over 10,000 bbls annual production, a new packaging line, and combined taproom/event seating for over 350 people. The facility offers further expansion to the entire footprint of the building for long term growth. To complement our investment in facilities and equipment, we are seeking talented people who share our vision and values to join our team.

    Brewer Position

We are looking for a Head Brewer to accelerate production growth and lead our quality initiatives. Key near term objectives for this position includes establishing a packaging line and tripling production volume over the next 2 years and implementing a rigorous quality program. The successful candidate will have organized and executed production plans, developed & led a growing staff of shift brewers and support personnel, and established clear operating procedures and quality systems.
    Responsibilities
    • Lead, develop, and coordinate the brewery operations team, including all day-to-day activities for the brewing team, packaging personnel, inventory management, supply chain, and quality program.
    • Develop operating procedures and assure that production activities conform to operating and quality protocols.

    • Use brewery management software to assure accurate and timely ordering, scheduling, and reporting on operations.
    • Maintain brewing, cellaring, filtration, packaging and other related documentation in an organized and complete manner.
    • Drive continuous improvement culture throughout his/her team.
    • Conduct annual performance reviews with all direct reports.

    Brewing Skills and Experience:
    • Yeast management per best practices and industry standards.

    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) on brewing, cellaring, cleaning, and sanitation.
    • Operating a clean, organized, safe working environment for all employees in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
    • Purchase and inventory management of raw materials, chemicals and supplies.
    • Brewery management software for tracking of finished product, raw materials and reporting functions for State and Federal regulatory agencies.
    • Meticulous documentation and logs for brew house and fermentation activities.

    • Cost control and operating efficiency initiatives
    • Quality control processes and troubleshooting
    • Brewery staff development and supervision
    • Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
