Denver Beer Co. is seeking a full time and a part time Packaging Tech
Our Mission:
The idea behind Denver Beer Co is simple. Good beer is best enjoyed with friends, fresh air, and a bit of adventurous spirit to sharpen the palate. Serving only premium artisan ales and lagers, we utilize fresh ingredients and embrace both innovative and old world styles of beer. Similar to a farmer’s table, our beer selections change with the seasons.
Denver Beer Co is a local brewery in the heart of Denver. We are growing and looking for a new team member. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, fun, and ambitious. Passion for beer is a must. We love making new friends and hanging with old ones!
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who can participate in our packaging runs and see the big picture. It’s important to notice details and be able to problem solve on the fly. The camaraderie of the packaging team is strong and working well with others is a necessity in this position. A packaging run can go from smooth to stressful in a matter of moments and we need someone who can think on their feet and find and implement solutions with confidence. We are super proud at the end of each day of what we have accomplished and want you to feel that way as well.
The position:
The main responsibility of the packaging team is to fill cans, kegs, and bottles. Canning runs occur several times a week and can last for 6-13 hours. During a run, packaging techs rotate through several positions. Watching and adjusting the filler, loading wraps, and packing off and palletizing cases are the main responsibilities. We also keg several times per week. Kegging consists of hooking multiple fill arms to multiple kegs and carefully watching and filling kegs. We run our bottling line for specialty batches on an infrequent basis. The main responsibilities on a bottle run are loading bottles in, rinsing, and labeling them.
In addition, the position requires
Assembling orders for the sales team
Knowledge of production reporting and batch records
Ability to become forklift certified
Perform basic cellar operations
Ability to learn QC checks and perform the checks throughout the run
Ability to follow SOP’s
Perform mix pack operations as needed
Take part in month-end inventory
Aid in training as necessary
Ability to communicate effectively and work well with other departments
Positive attitude
Team player
Safely operate the forklift
Manage cooler rotation
Help manage inventory and storage needs
Maintain general cleanliness of the brewery
Occasional shuttling of inventory between breweries
Assist with general maintenance of equipment
Requirements
Ability to lift and maneuver half barrel kegs
Passion for beer
Flexible schedule with the freedom to work long days
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
The Canworks brewery is loud and wet
Able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8-10 hours per day).
Able to frequently lift heavy materials (minimum 55 lb. boxes shoulder high up to 50 times daily) and full kegs.
