  • Dry hopping technique when using unitank?

    Anyone out there that uses fermenter as unitank and has a good dry hopping technique? Would love to get some tips on this! Thanks ,, 3 bbl jacketed unitank - thanks

        i'm assuming you have a port on top to dry hop into? (prv port or auxiliary port) otherwise you'll have to consider transferring into another purged tank full of hops or pulling out beer and making a slurry that you would reintroduce back into the beer.
        after beer is terminal and has cleaned up cool the tank to 50F-60F. harvest and/or dump yeast to remove as much as you can. continuous co2 into cip arm or stone to create a co2 environment. open your port, use funnel if possible and dry hop. need to get it in in a timely fashion or you risk the chance of a foaming eruption. close it back up with positive pressure in tank. #/bbl up to you to experiment with. you can circulate or blow up hops with co2 or just let it sit there. cool after you get the aroma you are looking for. purge hops.
