    The Production Manager for Russian River Brewing Company oversees every aspect of the production process, from acquisition and processing of raw goods and materials to the bottling, packaging and warehousing to produce the highest-quality beer.

    Job Description
    The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. The primary responsibilities of the Production Manager are:
    1. Oversee creation of brewing, cellaring and bottling schedules that maximize the efficiency of the brewery and its staff
    2. Manage all brewery operations of our 20 bbl & 50 bbl brew systems with current production at 17K BBLS per year with a future 75 bbl brewhouse and up to 50K bbls capacity
    3. Oversee the QA/QC department
    4. Lead a production staff capable of meeting/exceeding the goals of the brewery in the aspects of brewing, cellaring, packaging, and maintenance
    5. Promotes an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork within the department and the company
    6. Leads the production team to develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP's) for all aspects of production: brewing, cellaring, wood-aging, packaging and maintenance
    7. Holds self and production team accountable for adhering to SOP's and maintaining a sanitary and micro-biologically stable work environment
    8. Maintain brewing, cellaring, filtration, packaging and other related documentation in an organized and complete manner
    9. Responsible for full-employment cycle of direct reports (hiring, training, counseling, performance reviews, exit)
    10. Sets a leadership example within the company and maintains healthy, professional communication with other departments (Owners, HR, Finance, QA/QC, Sales and Distribution, Hospitality), while upholding all company policies
    11. Responsible for ordering ingredients and supplies and maintaining monthly inventory
    12. Represents the company as Production Manager at industry events and/or hosts industry people at the site(s)
    13. Works with the Head Brewer/Owner on new product development and quality initiatives
    14. Coordinate or recommend procedures for facility or equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.
    Qualifications required
    • Minimum of 5 years head brewing or production manager experience at a brewery with at least 15K bbls annual production, with demonstrated progressive career advancement in leadership or management positions
    • Bachelor's Degree and certification from an accredited brewing program, with a focus in microbiology, food science or chemical engineering
    • Minimum of 3 years Management experience in a brewery environment
    • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
    • Mechanical and problem solving aptitude, inventory control management skills
    • Experience with Obeer is a plus
    • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the operation and maintenance of following: steam boiler, roller mill, brewhouse, cellar, centrifugal pumps, centrifuge, bottling line, keg racker, fork lift truck, and various process control systems
    • Must be at least 21 years old

    Physical Demands
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
    Much of the work consists of conveying information verbally. While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand for long periods of time and walk; use fingers, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands; talk and hear; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, bend, twist and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, and/or move up to 55 pounds. Use of arms above or below the shoulder is sometimes required. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requires manual dexterity and ability to quickly move hand(s), hand with arm, grasp, manipulate or assemble.
