    Fort Point is looking for someone with a passion for good beer to take up the mantle of Accounting Manager. This person works closely wth the Head of Administration to make sure our incoming and outgoing payments are processed in a timely and accurate fashion and that management has quick and easy access to the data they need.

    OVERVIEW:

    The Accounting Manager is responsible for keeping Fort Point Beer Company’s books in good order. This includes both supervisory and direct work to manage all vendor accounts, provide effective clear communication to our many bar, restaurant and retail customers, ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, and to run financial reports for senior management and investors.

    The Accounting Manager must be efficient with detail management and have a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as the ability to provide seamless, friendly communication on behalf of the brewery.

    PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Manage Accounts Payable
    • Manage procurement and purchasing
    • Oversee and conduct the processing of invoices and reports
    • Maintain detailed reports of company payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions
    • Ensure timely communication with vendors to resolve account discrepancies, billing adjustments, apply credits and resolve payment issues
    • Review weekly bank reconciliations
    • Prepare financial statements for tax returns

    Manage Accounts Receivable
    • Ensure the accurate processing of completed sales invoicesCoordinate the generation, printing and mailing monthly statements
    • Communicate with management on delinquent accounts and execute collections

    Financial Management
    • Manage payroll processing including calculating hours, overtime and commissions
    • Securely maintain confidential files and records; Identify, trace and correct errors
    • Prepare financial statements/reports for management


    SECONDARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Manage office supply inventory and assist in supply ordering
    • Analyze data, prepare reports and make recommendations on a variety of accounting items
    • Performing other duties as assigned


    KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
    • 2+ years computerized accounting experience with a thorough understanding of GAAP accounting practices and principles.
    • SAP Business One, Netsuite, or other similar ERP usage
    • Experience reviewing financial documents for accuracy and completeness
    • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application


    REQUIRED SKILLS:
    • Strong computer skills – Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
    • Organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills


    KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PREFERRED:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Previous experience with Manufacturing business cycles (Beer or broader CPG industry)
    • Previous personnel management experience


    PREFERRED SKILLS:
    • Knack for creating layout and design of reports for readability
