    OVERVIEW:

    The Communications Director is responsible for overseeing all communication on behalf of Fort Point Beer Company. The Communications Director will ensure all written & visual content enforces the messaging guidelines laid out in the company brand book and fulfills the needs of the many creative outlets served on a daily basis. The Communications Director will write, design and plan all content related to social media, blog posts, internal and external newsletters, and product strategy. In this role, the Communications Director will develop high-impact marketing content and drive strategic growth for our business.

    PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Develop and lead all communication on behalf of the brand
    • Partner with CEO and Leadership to develop the company voice and strategies for communications
    • Manage copywriting for products, packaging, website and printed materials
    • Manage Social Media accounts, eventually hiring, training and supervising a dedicated Social Media Manager
    • Develop Social Media style guidelines
    • Strategize and ensure growth of dedicated Social Media following
    • Manage the generation of content for company blog and other news outlets


    SECONDARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Act as brewery public relations representative, pitching stories and building relationships with local media on behalf of the brand
    • Assist with other marketing activity as needed


    KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
    • 5+ of relevant professional experience
    • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application


    REQUIRED SKILLS:
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Highly efficient and capable of managing high volumes of content and multiple priorities
    • Experience in conceiving and executing social media campaigns on various channels
    • Sophisticated grasp of marketing metrics and drivers of impact
    • Self-motivated, with an excellent work ethic


    KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PREFERRED:
    • Bachelor’s or higher preferred
    • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.


    PREFERRED SKILLS:
    • Strong sense of visual design
    • Photography and photo editing
