    Job Title: Packaging Manager
    Location: Honeoye Falls, NY
    Position type: Full-time or Part-time

    Position Summary: Works on all operations that fall on the cold side of the brewery. Operate and maintain equipment needed to package beer in kegs or bottles. Oversee and work to fill distribution pick ups. Assists in a variety of aspects throughout the business as needed.

    Main Role:
    Operation of bottling line and coordination of overall production activities in support of line (part-time, shift work); reporting to Head Brewer.
    High Level Activities:
    • Staging materials (bottles, labels, crowns, packaging material) for production run
    • Equipment start up, shut down, and cleaning
    • Equipment and production operation
    • Routine shift maintenance and setup configuration
    • Supervision of packaging support during bottling run
    • Manifest, inventory, log-book recordings
    • Coordinate with scheduler, brew-master, process engineer, other operators and brewery staff
    Required Skills and Successfully Demonstrated Experience:
    • Ability to monitor multiple elements of a complex system and proactively maintain throughput with a nuanced/delicate touch in a fast paced environment
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills with electro-mechanical systems
    • Strong observation/awareness skills with a keen attention to detail
    • Ability to maintain focus and priorities when issues and distractions occur
    • Manufacturing process control (efficient operation, repeatability)
    • Strong quality practices with food-grade operations and finished goods experience
    • Knowledge of basic brewery operations, sanitation practices, and chemical utilization/handling
    • Team player with good communication skills (verbal and documentation)
    • Familiarity with in-line double pre-evacuation counter-pressure filler/crowner or similar equipment with ability to learn existing system quickly
    Qualified candidates will be able and willing:
    • To apprentice for 30 days minimum prior to start
    • To fully support established brewery policies, safety practices, and procedures
    • To fully read, understand, and follow operational documentation
    • To ask for assistance or clarification when needed
    • To proactively anticipate issues, bringing them to the attention of the appropriate person
    • To respect and interact professionally with brewery staff, clients, customers, and partners
    • To treat in process and finished product with care
    • To treat the brewery equipment, shared resources, and facilities with attention and concern
    • To respond maturely and positively to frequently changing needs
    • To demonstrate basic computer, reading, writing, listening, speaking (English), and math skills
    • To embrace a quality focused work environment and lead by example
    • To be punctual, maintain good attendance, and be willing to work flexible hours and shifts
    • To demonstrate good eyesight (near/far) and hand/eye coordination
    • To accommodate standing (for long periods), walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing/pulling, and lifting (in excess of 50#)
