    Karbach Brewing Co. located in Houston, Texas, is seeking a full-time Assistant Packaging Manager to join our growing team.

    Assistant Packaging Manager
    Position Summary:
    The Assistant Packaging Manager supervises and manages the second or third shifts of the packaging department and is responsible for the equipment and operating staff covering canning and keg racking lines.

    Responsibilities:
    •Assist in supervision, training, and operation of packaging department, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
    •Improve production efficiencies and yields.
    •Accurate record keeping.
    •Proficient understanding of running all packaging equipment and machinery.
    •General troubleshooting & maintenance knowledge of related equipment.
    •Performs general and basic preventative maintenance on the packaging machinery .
    •Assist with inventory of packaging related materials.
    •Supervise and delegate the work of packaging crew. Provide information and recommendations to the Packaging Manager on crew performance and disciplinary matters.
    •Work with the Packaging Manager and Lab staff to update QA parameters on packaging lines.
    •Work closely with cellar and warehouse departments to ensure smooth product flow and the timely completion of the production schedule in the evening hours.
    •Maintain an organized, clean, sanitary, and safe working environment through production runs by delegating responsibility for cleanliness.
    •Work with production management team in the absence of the Packaging Manager to create and implement packaging and personnel schedules.
    •Cover for lunch breaks of packaging team members when necessary.
    •Assist with personnel hours reporting when necessary.
    •Assess Packaging departments' performance against standards and objectives.
    •Assist in communicating key performance indicators and associated feedback processes to packaging team members.

    Job Qualifications
    •3+ years in beer packaging or related industry.
    •Ability to work in hot/cold and wet environments.
    •Attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
    •Ability to recognize visual and audible cues signaling machinery performance issues.
    •High school diploma or equivalent.
    •Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    •Ability to delegate, lead the packaging crew by example and make the difficult decisions when necessary.
    •Proactive and takes initiative.
    •Creates and fosters a team environment that demonstrates genuine concern for personal and professional development of all employees.
    •Communicates effectively with all employees, operations management, and guests of the brewery.
    •Provides positive leadership throughout the organization and ensures staff develops to their full potential.
    •Experience with high-speed fillers preferred.
    •Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
    •Forklift experience.
    •Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
