Buoy Beer Company, located on the waterfront in Astoria, OR, is looking to hire for the position of Brewer. This position will work alongside our Head Brewer and brew team to run all aspects of the brewery from brewing, to cellar, to packaging and warehouse duties. Buoy Beer Co. is a 3-year-old production brewery with a river front restaurant and taproom that has a pilot system. While the ability to help produce high quality lagers and ales is important, this person will also be willing to put in the extra effort with the always changing tasks required in a young and fast growing brewery. Equally important is your personality and being able to fit in with the team’s desire to create an enjoyable environment for ourselves and our community.
Duties will include typical brewery tasks such as brewing on the 20BBL and 3BBL brewhouses, CIP, cellar operations, yeast handling, keg washing, packaging into kegs/bottles/cans and much more. In addition, this person will want to take on more social aspects such as tours, tastings, pairing dinners, events, etc.
Current NW based candidates are encouraged to apply, and the ability to come meet in person in Astoria, OR in the coming weeks is a MUST if requested.
Job Requirements:
-Professional brewing experience or related degree a must
-Job location is full-time in Astoria, OR
-Flexible work schedule – nights and weekends possible
-Ability to lift 55 lbs. repeatedly
-Stand for long periods of time
-Strong attention to detail and organization skills
-Self motivated and able to work independently as well as with a diverse team of people
-Lab experience strongly desired
