Packaging Manager

We are looking for a self-motivated and hands-on Packaging Manager to join our production team and be responsible for all aspects of packaging operations. First and foremost, the candidate must have a positive attitude and work well with others as a member of a small company. Position is full time and based in Freeport, Maine. Packaging Manager
Job Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Brewing Operations and the Director of Quality to ensure that high quality standards are met in all packaging operations
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and follow safe work practices
- Responsible for all aspects of packaging operations from managing and training the packaging personnel, running the packaging equipment, to troubleshooting and performing maintenance on all packaging related equipment
- Perform all simple routine maintenance tasks on all packaging related equipment, and work collaboratively with the Brewery Engineer on non-routine repairs and annual services, etc.
- Develop, maintain, and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all packaging operations (e.g. ensure minimal oxygen pick-up during packaging runs, properly clean and sanitize packaging equipment, perform routine cleaning tasks of packaging equipment and work areas, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional work experience in packaging operations
- Technical knowledge of, and experience working on high-speed packaging equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude; formal training/degree/background in a technical discipline (e.g. mechanical engineering) highly preferred
- Excellent communication, leadership, time management, and organizational skills
- Experience in a managerial/leadership role highly preferred
- A positive attitude and willingness to help co-workers when needed
- Ability to multi-task while working safely and efficiently
- Meticulous about sanitization, and has an appreciation for keeping things clean
- Great attention to detail
