Job Description: The ASSISTANT OPERATOR supports the lead line operator to ensure the canning equipment is running correctly. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting all of our safety and quality standards. You will be responsible for operating, maintaining and cleaning various pieces of equipment.
Responsibilities:
-Assist Lead Operator in setting-up, breaking-down and operation of equipment
-Preparing cleaning solutions for canning line
-Loading cans and assisting in packaging
-Troubleshooting mechanical problems that may arise during a job
-Help maintain efficiency and quality control systems
-Working closely with brewery owners, head brewers and additional staff
-Driving company trucks and trailers safely and efficiently
-Assist in loading and unloading of equipment and supplies
-Regular line maintenance on-site and at the warehouse
-Managing and maintaining warehouse supply inventory
-Prepping inventory for daily canning runs
Requirements:
-Mechanical propensity for repairing and maintaining equipment
-Work well with others – We are a customer service driven business and you need to be able to communicate well with customers
-Team Player – Work well with other employees to achieve canning goals
-Be able to work long hours - Long canning runs aren’t unusual
-Traveling to breweries and wineries on a regular basis
-Like to travel – Some canning runs take us to other states
-Physically fit - You must be able to lift over 50 pounds and stand throughout your shift
-Knowledge of beer and some of the brewing process
-Driver's license and a good driving record
-High school diploma or equivalent
Ideal candidates have:
-Previous brewery or packaging experience, though not required
-Mechanical skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment on-site
-Attentiveness, quick reaction and decision-making skills and abilities
-Willingness to work long, sometimes unusual hours
-Passion for and knowledge of beer, wine and other beverages
Preferred:
-Previous brewery or packaging experience
-Understanding of production brewery equipment
-Box truck/trailer vehicle operating experience
-Forklift operating experience
