  • Draft Line resistance

    Hey Guys,

To help my balancing, would anyone happen to have the resistance (foot pounds) created by the common beer line used here in the UK (Valpar Brewmaster 2, 3/16 and 3/8 ODs).

I have found tables out there, but they all talk about 3/16 and 3/8 ID tubing, not OD.

    Thanks,

Just look on the line, it *should* have the ID listed, if not call the supplier.

You will need to contact VAlpar directly, they have 3 IDs on 3/8 tube and dont list the 3/16 on their website. www.valpar.co.uk I hope that helps

        Thanks guys...

3/8 OD line has .265 inch ID
3/16 OD line has .117 inch ID

Next stupid question, how do get resistance from that?

        Cheers,

            Hey guys,

Thought I'd post back my own answer to this one:

            Valpar 3/8 OD x .265" MDP Tube = .13 psi/foot (.41 psi/metre)
            Valpar 3/16 OD x .117" MDP Tube = 5.8 psi/foot (19 psi/metre)

The 5.8/foot explained a lot of my problems.

            Cheerio,
            Jeff
