1859 Cider Company is an urban cidery seeking a fun, outgoing, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a part-time tasting room associate. Our ideal candidate will have a passion about cider, come to work with a positive attitude, provide exceptional customer service, and be a team player willing to assist in all aspects of the cidery. Candidates must also have excellent communication skills.

• Experience in social media and willingness to add content to social media accounts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Prepare the taproom for daily opening and closing.
• Handle routine purchasing transactions (includes operating point-of-sale system and accounting of daily sales and inventory).
• Use tracking software for Bill of Lading and inventory management.
• Stock retail area by moving kegs of cider and other merchandise.
• Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of the cidery, its products, and cidermaking techniques.
• Be able to effectively describe ciders and answer customer questions.
• Promote the sale of cider and other merchandise in the taproom; act as informed resource for consumers regarding cidermaking, cider apples, cider vintages, availability of products and brand award and accolades.
• Represent the company and brand, professionally, graciously, and enthusiastically.
• Assist with special events and harvesting fruit in the orchard as needed.
• Ability to handle difficult customers and stressful situations.
• Answer phone and execute phone orders.
• Maintain satisfactory attendance, including timeliness.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory consideration.
• Clean facility including bathrooms and tasting room.
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution, plus some tasting room or restaurant experience.
• Sales experience.
• Required to be 21 years of age or older.
• Be able to obtain OLCC servers license.
• Must be reliable, punctual, flexible, and able to work weekends and holidays.
• Required to lift and move up to 60 pounds.
• Required to engage in frequent walking, standing, and occasional ladder work.
• Must have reliable transportation and ability to operate a company vehicle.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate’s Degree plus 1 year of tasting room or restaurant experience.
• Skilled in communication, presentation, sales and customer service.
• Knowledge of basic computer operation.
• Knowledge of cider and cider production.
• Knowledge of federal and state legal compliance related to tasting room operations.
