We are currently looking to add a member to our production team at Pig Pounder Brewery as soon as possible. This is a full time position that offers potential for growth.
Pig Pounder operates a 7 BBL brewhouse with 56 BBLs of fermentation space. We brew a variety of styles and focus on using top quality ingredients to create traditional and inspired beer. Our core English styles consistently win medals and we have a robust cask ale program.
The position will center around these primary areas:
- Operating Cellar Work: sanitation, cleaning, plate-and-frame filtration, carbonation
- Operating a keg washer and bottle washer
- Delivering beer to accounts, as we are self distributed
- Cleaning draft lines
- Keg filling and bottling
- Carrying out cleaning and maintenance work in production
- Working with head brewer in crafting infusions and producing cask ale
- Assisting with on and off-site events and festivals on occasional evenings and weekends
- conducting brewery tours
Ours is a small team in a small brewery, the day to day experience can be unpredictable and outside of the above listed tasks. Therefor the qualities that make a good craft brewery team member include:
- Foundational passion for the business of making beer for people to enjoy
- Fired up that there is never an idle moment in the production facility
- Understanding that even the smallest tasks contribute to big picture goals
- Obsessive attention to detail in performing operations with precision
- Uncompromising standards of cleanliness and sanitation
- Flexibility to handle a wide variety of problems and challenges
- Resilience under pressure and composed problem solving in crisis situations
- Valuing the importance of assisting others
- Drive to work together with the team to grow and improve the brewery
6 months of experience working in a commercial beer production facility is preferred, but not required. Other relevant experience may include fields valuing sanitation, a highly dynamic work environment, maintenance and detail-oriented production.
