POSITION OVERVIEW
The HDC Delivery Driver and Merchandiser makes beer deliveries from the brewery to greater Boston area off-premise and on-premise retailers and stocks shelves at major chain off-premise retailers. This position requires attention to detail, reliability, excellent communication skills, good driving skills, clean driving record, ability to undertake physical labor to repeatedly lift 150lbs, and the ability to work quickly and efficiently without direct supervision.
JOB DUTIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Deliveries
Loading and unloading delivery vehicles
Product deliveries to retail accounts
Maintaining associated paperwork (for example: invoices) in an accurate and orderly manner
Interface with back-of-house retail staff in a professional manner
On-going communication with headquarters and route Sales Representatives
Fill in as route driver if needed
Build pallets for Saturday deliveries
Complete emergency deliveries because of mispicks, out of stock products, or not on truck.
Merchandising
“Pack-outs” and “Put-aways” are for large off-premise retailers:
Transfer of inventory from back-of-house storage
Stocking shelves
Stock rotation
Construction of retail displays, placement of Point of Sale and other promotional materials
Build and stock displays
REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Valid driver’s license
Highly reliable, self-directed, strong work ethic
Solid communication and time management skills
Quick learner, good problem solver
Forklift experience is a plus, but not required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is primarily in the field (metropolitan Boston) making deliveries and on-site at alcoholic beverage retailers
Operate a non-CDL van or light delivery truck
During work hours, constantly needs to be accessible via phone, text, or e-mail
Moderately demanding physical labor (deliveries)
Variable hours that include Saturday work
