8/8/2017 - Packaging Lead Position Open
Lift Bridge Brewery will be building a new brewery in the next 18-24 months with a starting capacity of 35,000 bbls and room to grow past 80,000 bbls. We are looking for the right person to grow with us. In addition to the current duties listed below, this person will be in charge of the following:
Help in selection of rotary bottle filler, labeler, and packaging equipment
Commission new equipment
Train staff on new equipment
Own the operation and maintenance

The ideal candidate should be outgoing, quality and safety minded, hard-working, and mechanically inclined. Previous experience in a packaging environment is required and preference will be given to individuals with experience directly related to brewery packaging operations.
Current responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The setup, operation, and tear-down of a semi-automated bottle filler, keg filler, large format bottle filler, can filler, labeler and all associated equipment
Accurate record keeping
Leading all day to day packaging activities
Leading and training Packaging Technicians
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area
QA testing related to the packaging process
The creation of new and executing on existing SOP's,
Conducting regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of all packaging equipment
Adhering to established safety protocol while promoting a culture of safety awareness
Contributing to an atmosphere of teamwork within the department and throughout the company
Communicating with other departments to ensure the needs of the packaging schedule and quality standards have been met
Double checking of tank volumes, beer parameters, and scheduling requests related to the day's production needs
The monitoring of packaging material inventories, issuing orders or communicating said needs to the appropriate individual
Communicating department concerns, needs, and suggest/implement process improvements.
Requirements for this position include:
Communicate effectively
Detail oriented
Safely work with cleaning/sanitizing chemicals and in varying environments.
Able to lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs occasionally
Excellent time management skills
Mechanically inclined
Hard work ethic and positive attitude
Effectively multi-task, critically think and have problem solving capabilities
Calmly manage packaging issues and others to maintain a positive work culture.
Computer literate/comfortable using MS Office
Experience driving a forklift a plus
Work a flexible work schedule with little supervision
Materials, Machines, and Equipment Used:
Semi-automated and manual packaging equipment
Automated labeling equipment
Manual pallet jacks and powered forklifts
A variety of hand and power tools
Various cleaning and sanitizing agents
Touchscreen machine controls
Compressed air or other gases, including C02
Limited computer use
