  • Sparger

    Hi everyone!

I have a 20 bbl JVNW MLT. The unit was manufactured in 1996 and I am a fairly new owner/brewer. It did not come with a specialized sparge head of any kind as the previous owner used a spray ball. I did not like using the spray ball, so I purchased a GW Kent sparge head and I absolutely hate it; I almost always end up with a very uneven topography in the tun and I feel my efficiency is suffering and variable as a result. I cannot seem to find many "spargers" or sparge heads available for commercial brewing. Does anyone know of a manufacturer of such equipment? Am I maybe searching with the wrong terminology? I simply need a sparge head that will spray gently and evenly that I can clamp to a 1.5" tri clamp ferrule.

    Thanks in advance!

    Diy

I've seen some breweries just make their own DIY'd sparge head sprayer by using a short TC pipe with a larger TC end cap welded about 2 inches from the bottom of the pipe. It can be used to vorlauf as well.
