Brewery Production Assistant
Bent Water Brewing Company – Lynn, MA
Position Summary
Bent Water Brewing Company is seeking a Production Associate to work in our Lynn, MA brewery. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented individual who will report to the Head Brewer. The candidate will be responsible for assisting all areas of beer production.
Previous brewery experience is required for this position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
General:
• Safely and efficiently work in a busy and close quartered environment
• Adhere to the safety standards of Bent Water Brewing Company
• Safely handle hazardous chemicals and correctly use PPE
• Maintain a clean work space
• Continually develop knowledge about beer and brewing
• Learns all basic brewery tasks to fill in for occasional gaps in production staffing
Packaging:
• Set up, operate, and clean our ABE Lincan canning line
• Package finished beer into kegs
• Operate keg washer
• Apply Pak-Tech holders
• Record quality control data during packaging runs
Cellar:
• Assist with CIP/SIP on all vessels
• Assist with beer transfers
• Assist with gravity checks, yeast dumps, and dry hopping
• Assist with yeast management
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary including assisting with brewing and in the warehouse.
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to work independently while maintaining safety and quality standards
• Repeatedly lift 55lbs and move up to 165lbs
• Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb for extended periods
• Lift, drag, carry, and manipulate hoses, parts, pumps, and buckets
• Able to work in a hot, cold, wet, and loud production environment
• Able to problem solve while remaining calm and seek help when required
• Forklift experience preferred, but will train
Qualification Requirements:
• Commercial brewery experience is required
• Previous experience with mechanical systems and troubleshooting is a plus
• Inventory management skills
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Love and passion for craft beer
This is a full-time non-exempt position and will be eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a given week. Regular business days and hours of work Monday through Friday are expected, with work in the evenings and weekends as needed.
This is a fulltime, hourly position, compensation is commensurate with experience. Bent Water Brewing Company offers medical benefits after 6 months of employment.
