  • MANUFACTURING MAINTENANCE TECHNICAN - 3rd shift - MILLS RIVER, NC

    We are looking for a self-motivated Maintenance Technician to join our growing Mills River, NC team. Our technicians troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. In addition, this position will maintain, repair or replace hygienic and utility piping, structural elements, machine parts and general plant equipment and infrastructure.

    DUTIES
    •Conduct and complete PMs and work orders and address issues as they arise.
    •Inspect, test, and repair machinery and equipment.
    •Clean, lubricate and rebuild shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
    •Diagnose and repair mechanical problems; listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers.
    •May maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and equipment related to utility and process piping.
    •Install, remove, repair, modify, or replace new or existing machines and equipment.
    •May fabricate or repair structural-related objects.
    •Set up and operate machine tools such as a grinder, drill press, hand tools and other metal working equipment to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools.
    •Know, understand, and be compliant with the Confined Space Entry procedure and Lockout procedure.
    •Read, understand and work from P&IDs, equipment cut sheets and manufacturer-provided drawings.
    •May operate forklift or other mobile equipment (i.e. scissor lift, articulated boom).
    •Perform housekeeping functions both in the shop and on the job site to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
    •May weld metal parts using TIG and / or orbital welding and any combination of arc welding processes.
    •Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical components such as motors, motor starters, fuses, disconnects, instrumentation, relays, switches, position sensors and printed circuit boards.
    •Troubleshoot instrumentation, temperature, pressure, and flow control loops. Install, program, maintain and troubleshoot PLCs motor control systems and control networks.
    •May perform tasks such as welding, grinding, and buffing inside tanks or vessels.
    •Perform disassembly, repair and service of valves, pumps, actuators and other related piping hardware.
    •Perform other duties and take on other responsibilities as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    •Broad knowledge of materials, joining techniques and technologies, geometry, trigonometry, fluid handling systems is desired.
    •This person will show initiative to perform duties beyond assignment-specific duties.
    •To perform this job successfully the candidate will be skilled in English oral and written communication skills and will be competent with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

    Experience & Education
    •A minimum of two years related work experience is preferred.
    •An Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is highly desired.

    Additional REQUIREMENTS to consider before applying
    •3rd Shift Position. 10:00PM - 6:30AM. Sunday - Thursday.
    •You MUST be able to work inside and out, in all weather conditions (cold, rain, hot, steam etc.).
    •Performance of the essential duties will require the physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs and ladders, use of construction personnel hoists, ability to negotiate work areas under construction, and lift and or move items up to 70 pounds.
    •You must possess a valid driver’s license with an exemplary driving record free of any major violations in the last five years.
    •Selected candidate must pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check AND a physical abilities exam.
    •You must be at least 21 years of age to work for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
