    Reformation Brewery in Woodstock, GA is looking for a Brewing Operations Manager. We have been brewing for 4 years and will brew about 7000 bbl this calendar year. We operate a 20hl Mash Filter (iDD, HEBS).

    Type of Position: Full Time, Non exempt Location: Woodstock, Georgia

    Reformation Brewery is hiring a Head Brewer to lead brewing operations and continue to build on our strong culture based on core values. We are seeking a high potential individual to be a part of the rapid growth of the brewery; many future opportunities for broader experience and responsibility are likely.

    Key Skills and Experience

    The individual is a gifted brewer with a passion for leading a production team in efficiently brewing high quality beer in a team oriented environment:
    - A minimum of three years of proven brewing experience,
    - 3 or more years experience at a commercial brewery preferred, and
    - formal brewing education or a degree in a scientific discipline required.

    Job details

    - Leads brewing operations activities from ingredient selection, brewing, yeast management, cellaring, quality control, packaging through warehousing and shipping.
    - Reports to the Brewmaster and leads the brewery with the Brewmaster.
    - Is the leader of the production team, building a strong culture and work ethic:
    Manages work schedules
    Ensures the team has adequate capabilities to meet brewery needs (capabilities, training and availability)
    Coaches, leads and builds a strong production team
    Builds a strong and positive work ethic in the team
    Delegates appropriate activities to team members
    Participates in hiring
    - Coordinates brewing and staffing schedules to meet production plan.
    - Leads brews and packaging operations with other brewers as necessary.
    - Is responsible to ensure quality of the beer consumed by customers, but also efficiency of production.
    - Ensures the brewery is maintained in a clean and tidy fashion, from CIP through preparing the facility for hand of to the Keeping Room team.
    - Operates in a manner which is:
    Safe for all individuals involved
    Meets or exceeds the expected quality
    Follows established and best practice procedures
    Delivers on required production volumes
    - Proactively works to deliver a better beer at lower costs, but does not implement change without due consideration and evaluation.
    - Ensures best work practices are codified (procedure, work instructions etc) and the team is properly trained.
    - Occasionally represents the brewery as appropriate in outside events and promotions.

    - Experience leading teams
    - Proven ability in development of beer recipes and brewing techniques
    - A focus on quality and consistency
    - Has excellent hygiene practices & cleanliness in the brewery
    - Technical Knowledge in all applicable aspects of the brewing process
    - Yeast management – handling, storage & maintenance
    - Recipe formulation
    - Strong mechanical understanding and background
    - Has experience of quality control processes and systems
    - Proven experience in a commercial brewing or manufacturing environment
    - Fast learner with strong troubleshooting and problem solving ability
    - Must be able to record all brewhouse information and follow state and federal regulations
    - Excellent work ethic, tenacity, and capable of performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods
    - Willingness to flex work time to match the needs of the brewing operation
    - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    - Proven ability to work as a team player with good leadership skills
    - Results-oriented individual
    - Comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
    - Must be able to move 55lb bags of grain, move up and down stairs, kneel.
    - Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, preferably biology, chemistry, brewing science or chemical engineering.
