Taproom/Event Manager (Full-Time)
The Taproom/Event Manager is responsible for organization, staff training, and leadership to achieve our guest service goals in the taproom, and to ensure successful in-house events through planning and promotion.
The ideal candidate will ensure a memorable taproom experience for our guests through professionalism, knowledge, and hospitality. The candidate must be customer-focused, experienced in a restaurant/bar/taproom environment, and have exceptional interpersonal, management, and organizational skills. We are searching for candidates who are passionate about the opportunity to be involved at the ground level of a new business and who are excited by the prospect of helping us build our brand!
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage all taproom activities
• Supervise all employees working in the taproom
• Recruitment, hiring, training, and scheduling staff
• Oversee and manage on-site special events (including private events, concerts/live music, food trucks, and other promotional events)
• Provide tours to share knowledge about our history, brand, and beers
• Maintain an employee-friendly and positive work environment, ensuring all workplace rules are understood and followed
• Maintain a safe, secure environment
• Update and maintain POS terminals
• Ensure that all guests are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times
• Manage beer and merchandise inventory
• Comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations
• Ensure all areas are kept spotless, including restrooms and common areas
• Control cash and receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures
• Cleaning draft lines
• Creating theme nights for the tap room
• Able to use social media effectively to promote the Tap Room and its activities
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in management or a business-related field preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and especially Outlook
• Three to five years of prior management experience preferred.
• Must be 21 years or older
• Bar Managment Experience & Preferred Event Planning Experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong multi-tasking skills
• Strong customer service and management skills
• Knowledge of beer and brewing process
• Team player with strong leadership skills
• Knowledge of P&L, budgeting, sales goals, and forecasting
• Basic math skills and ability to use a POS system
• Must be accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Able to work a minimum of 45 hours per week; able to work flexible hours including working nights, weekends, and holidays to manage and train effectively
• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and able to lift 50 pounds
Compensation
$25,000 to $35,000 Annually
