Ferment Nation is a locally owned and operated beer distributor specializing in the Washington DC and Northern Virginia craft beer market. We are a startup distributor established in 2015 looking for energetic and self-motivated individuals to join our growing team. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The delivery driver is an important position within our team. In addition to delivering our products and representing our brands, they are also key in providing outstanding customer service. A stellar driving record, ability to lift and maneuver full kegs as well as a positive customer-centric attitude are essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Load truck with customer keg orders to prepare for delivery.
- Plan routes for optimal travel time to deliver all kegs in a timely and fuel-efficient manner
- Safely navigate Northern VA and DC streets in a box truck to deliver products
- Unload kegs and move to location identified by the customer
- Clean tap lines and tap kegs as needed to provide customer service
- Retrieve empty kegs and return to warehouse
- Handle on-premise invoice adjustments and payments
- Track route and deliveries using smart phone check-in/tracking technology
- Work with sales/account management regarding customer orders
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 25 years of age or older to comply with federal and state regulations
- Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record (minimum 2 years) and can be insured
- Must be able to regularly lift and maneuver full kegs (approximately 160 lbs)
- Must be able to crawl, crouch or climb as needed to service keg lines or access kegs
- Must have delivery driving experience (minimum 1 year)
- Beer or alcohol related industry experience is strongly desired
- Alcohol distribution experience is a plus
- Must be willing to fill in for other roles as needed. Growth opportunities are available.
- Must be able to establish a rapport with customers and work as a team with our sales/account management team
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate customer availability, including weekends and evenings to service events, as needed
- Must be willing to make emergency deliveries when needed
