    NOW HIRING: Mobile Packaging Line Lead Operator

    Founded in 2012, Lagersmith provides mobile canning and bottling services across the upper Midwest for craft breweries. We own and operate canning, bottling, and labeling equipment from 2 base locations – Stillwater, MN and Madison, WI. We partner with dozens of breweries to package their products.

    We are seeking a Lead Packaging Line Operator to join our dedicated team. The right individual is a leader who works well with others, focuses on quality and customer service, is mechanically intelligent, and passionate about craft brewing.

    Qualifications
    • Must be able to drive a 26’ box truck and have a good driving record. No CDL required.
    • Must be able to safely operate a forklift
    • Must have the ability and aptitude to learn and perform basic electrical, mechanical, and programming troubleshooting.
    • Packaging or manufacturing experience (specifically on Wild Goose canning line or a Meheen bottling line) are a plus.
    • A working knowledge of brewing equipment
    • Must have the ability and aptitude to learn and perform skills applicable to general maintenance.
    • The ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision, while efficiently prioritizing tasks.
    • The ability to follow SOPs.
    • The ability to adhere to and advances the safety and procedures.
    • The ability to work flexible hours and travel up to 25%.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Ensure all packaging equipment is set up, maintained, and operational to allow for efficient and safe packaging of quality product.
    • Load and unload truck – securing all contents securely
    • Operate canning and bottling line, and perform changeovers on equipment.
    • Run CIPs to start up and shut down the lines with minimal product loss.
    • Complete production and batch reporting as required.
    • Learn and perform QC procedures throughout a packaging run
    • Lead a small team and work closely with clients during packaging runs
    • Train new staff and assistant operators

    Brewery Working Environment
    The demands of the Packaging Line Operator position are very physical in nature. The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job you will be working over, under, and around machinery in tight spaces. You will need to be able to work on your feet for a long period of time. This work environment involves indoor and outdoor activities in various temperatures and weather conditions. You will need to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employees are exposed to high levels of noise and other hazards requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
