    Responsibilities
    The Malt House Production Manager is responsible for quality malt production.
    This involves the general supervision of production operations, finished product quality, and production employees. Purchasing and installing new production equipment will be also be required.

    Essential Duties & Requirements
    Malt Production
    • Orchestrate malt production by managing weekly/daily production schedules.
    • Assist in malt house production operations as required. This includes unloading materials, handling bags of specialty malt, operator relief, and troubleshooting process equipment.
    • Maintain other miscellaneous building, grounds, and security related functions as required.
    • Support quality team with monitoring quality parameters including but not limited to production sampling, record keeping, process controls, sensory testing, and lab analysis.

    Employee Training
    Ensure all project documentation and record keeping requirements are fulfilled, managed, and maintained.
    • Track and communicate status updates, scope and design changes, as well as budgetary changes as production and projects are developed, implemented, and managed.
    • Supervise employees
    • Assist training and development needs for all employees
    • Ensure all employees are complying with OSHA safety and in-house quality and sanitary requirements

    Equipment
    • Assist with engineering designs, contractors, tasks, priorities, timelines, and requirements for existing and future malt house needs.
    • Be a resource for equipment maintenance, reliability and process optimization.
    • Complete and manage preventative maintenance program.
    • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
    • Develop start-up plan, training plan, SOPs and TOPs for each new piece of equipment.

    Desired Minimum Qualifications
    • 2+ years manufacturing or grain handling experience and/or experience in brewing/packaging, particularly in the food industry.
    • Proved experience in new factory or production design.
    • Excellent mechanical aptitude, with hands-on experience troubleshooting equipment.
    • Computer literacy, Microsoft Office and other project management tools.
    • Proven track record in brewery and/or food plant engineering, design and project management with a focus on equipment installation, design, and construction.

    Compensation and Benefits
    Grouse Malting offers competitive wages that will be determined by experience and may include health/vision insurance, 401k & bonus opportunities, and paid time off. Benefit eligibility is dependent on job classification and hours worked.
