    ABOUT ALVARADO STREET BREWERY
Opened in 2014, and located in a historically registered building in Old Monterey, the Alvarado Street Brewery & Grill serves locally sourced, gastropub-influenced fare built around it’s beers that are produced on-site. The Brewpub contains 140 seats, including a shaded sidewalk patio overlooking Alvarado Street, a 50-seat Beer Garden in the back, a full bar, and over 20 house beers on draft. Located behind the Brewery & Grill in Old Monterey, customers can enter the Beer Garden on Alvarado Street or Calle Principal. The outdoor, pavilion-like structure features communal seating for 50, two fire pits with lounge-style seating, and a separate bar with 12 house beers on tap. Our Salinas Production Brewery opened in April of 2016 to supplement house offerings at the Brewery & Grill in Monterey, and allow us to supply draft beer to quality minded local establishments. The tasting room is set smack dab in the middle of the brewery, allowing patrons to witness the brewing process and be a part of the action.

    ABOUT OUR BEER
We like to dabble in a little bit of everything, but we focus on several key areas:
-Progressive, hop-forward ales and lagers built around hop aroma and flavor, often fermented with a variety of yeast strains to maximize the expression of hops.
-Clean, crisp lagers that are sometimes traditional, and sometimes experimental.
-Kettle Sour ales with rich, lactic acidity, bright fruit character, and clean fermentation, designed purely for refreshment.
-Bourbon, and various spirit-barrel aged dark ales of various types, sometimes in conjunction with other ingredients.
-Barrel aged wild and sour ales with tremendous complexity and character, often incorporated with native microflora. These beers fall under the Yeast of Eden umbrella, which is a side project of Alvarado Street.
