Quality Control Manager / Coronado Brewing Company
Location: San Diego, CA
Reports To: Director of Brewing Operations
Job Summary
The Coronado Brewing Company (CBC) is looking for a self-motivated individual who is hungry to make a difference in their job and work with a great team. Qualified candidates must be outgoing, flexible, goal-oriented and have a passion for the craft brewing industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• In process and finished beer testing, which includes but is not limited to the following: IBU’s, color, pH, gravity, carbon dioxide, dissolved oxygen, seam analysis, turbidity, forced fermentation, ABV.
• Monitor packaged beer quality in bottles, cans and kegs.
• Track data and send reports to the brewing team.
• Order and manage yeast.
• Monitor yeast quality.
• Order and manage lab supplies.
• Monitor microbiological contamination.
• Train and run tasting panel.
• Help trouble shoot problems in production.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience in brewing or food and beverage.
• Proven decision making and analytical skills.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced environment which is heavily integrated with other functional departments.
• Professional communication skills.
• Proficient in excel
