Quality Technician, Athens, GA

In collaboration with Quality Manager, the Quality Technician will contribute to the team by the continuation in the development of the microbiological program while also contributing in analytical, sensorial, and packaging quality initiatives. The Quality Technician will be expected to work in collaboration with multiple departments to implement, develop, and maintain these initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
• Continued development, implementation, and execution of a microbiological program is the priority.
• Facilitating formal taste panels.
• Performing routine checks on packaging processes.
• Performing analytical techniques in the analysis of wort, beer, and water.
• Maintenance and calibration of a wide array of laboratory equipment.
Successful candidates will have:
• A minimum of a Bachelors in Microbiology or equivalent field of study.
• Ability to maintain and grow a microbiological program for a brewing production facility.
• 2 years of quality department experience in a production facility.
o Preferred 2 years of brewing quality departmental experience.
• Ability to lift to 55 pounds, twist/turn, reach over shoulders, bend and stoop.
• Familiarity in using laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometers, scales, and pH meters.
o Familiarity with brewing and beverage related devices such as density meters and gehaltemeters a plus.
• Advanced knowledge and skills utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
