  • Student in need of brewery design help

First of all i would really appreciate help here.

I am an engineering student tasked with designing a brewery from the ground up. I have no knowledge of breweries other than what i've learned on here in the last few days.

I would like to know a few things from those of you who work in breweries and have designed them yourselves.

    1. Where can I learn the most easily about brewing?
    2. What type(brands and versions) would you want in a brewery?
    3. What aspects of brewery equipment would you like changed?
    4. Is there any information you think I should know?

I will try to post progress, design specs and 3d visualisations of what I've completed as it goes on.

    Thanks

Take a drive to Kalamazoo and visit a REAL BREWERY in person... but since when does a student need an excuse to visit a brewery?

      Cheers,
      Scott

Yes there is a brewery near here and it's called the keweenaw brewing company and is next door to the library restaurant and bar. The owner/operator of that brewery will be giving us a presentation this tuesday but I think multiple inputs on this would be appreciated.

                Brewery Start-up

Take an on-line visit to JVNW's web site, they have a prospectus available for start-ups. I think it will answer some of your questions and give you more questions to ask.

jvnw.com, click on fermentation, then choose "craft brewing system",
I promise you won't be disappointed.
