Job Overview
The purpose of the brewer/cellarperson is to produce “wow” beer consistently and to collaborate on new and innovative beers.
Qualifications:
– Experienced professional brewer and cellar person
– Attention to detail and quality management of beer production, including raw materials handling, yeast and fermentation management, and packaging.
– Must be in good physical condition.
– Ability to sit/stand/bend/walk and maintain manual dexterity for duration of work period.
– Able to lift 55 lbs. and move at least 165 lbs.
– Have a flexible schedule, team player, and be 21 years or older.
Duties will include, but not limited to:
– CIP of brew-house, fermenters/bright tanks, and transfer of liquid between tanks.
– Competent knowledge of all aspects of wort production
– Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment, tanks, and work areas to brewmaster’s specifications.
– Maintain brew-masters specified SOPs in wort production, vessel cleaning and sanitation, yeast handling, fermentation, dry-hopping, maturation, carbonation, and kegging/packaging
– Understand and adhere to recipes, processes, and safety procedures in all tasks.
– Troubleshoot and report all mechanical issues to production operations manager as needed.
– Help with packaging as needed.
– Participate in brewery events and festivals as needed.
