  • HLT/CLT Blendpoint

    Hi,

Has anyone built their own HLT/CLT blendpoint? What I am referring to is an inline double valve set up to get liquor to the temp you want on the way to, for example, mashtun or sparge arm. Would love to know what kind of solutions you guys may have

    We run DIN40 hoses mostly

Use globe or diaphragm valves, a "Y" tee , then put a thermometer some distance from the blend point so that the temperature stabilizes. Its really simple.

These valves or possibly even a needle valve are all good choices. Smaller valve if you plan to blend with CLT, bigger if you want to blend with "regular" inlet temp water.

They are generally referred to as mixing stations, and are ideal for tempering water for chemical additions.
