POSITION: Packaging Technician/Assistant Cellarperson
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a packaging technician/assistant cellarperson, normal duties will include all facets of packaging, assisting with
cellar activities and upholding high standards of cleanliness and quality. A successful candidate will have
formal brewing education or commensurate experience, be self-motivated and demonstrate attention to detail.
DUTIES:
Packaging
Carbonate and monitor CO2 levels in finished beer
Assist with packaging finished beer in various formats (keg, can, bottle, etc.)
Organize and manage shipping and logistics
Build orders for distribution pick up
Perform CIP and SIP of packaging equipment
Perform secondary packaging duties such as 6-pack, 12-pack and case building
Cellar
CIP and SIP of fermentation and bright beer tanks
Track and document fermentation parameters and use them to properly condition beer
Perform beer conditioning tasks including dry hopping, trub dumping, fining and temperature
management
Assist in operation of GEA HB05 centrifuge
Monitor DO in beer through out the cellar
Perform all cellar tasks in strong accordance with established SOPs, recipes and QA methods
Other
Very strong alignment with QA/QC methods as well as use of SOP’s
Loading/unloading of shipments into and out of brewing facility
Inventory management and production software use
Attend and participate at regular production meetings
Maintain a clean brewery including floors, drains and tank exteriors
Maintain a safe working environment
Assist with QA/QC testing and sensory assessments
Assist with brewhouse and wort production activities as needed
Work with an attitude to drive continuous improvement
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

Formal brewing education and/or commercial brewing experience preferred
Forklift certified or ability to become forklift certified
Strong attention to detail
Strong critical thinking skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Physical requirements
o Able to lift up to 60 lbs multiple times daily
o Able to stand, bend, kneel, etc
o Able to safely handle hazardous chemicals
Be able to work flexible schedule when appropriate.
