  • General Manager, Hospitality: Brewery Ommegang - Duvel Moortgat USA

    The General Manager, Hospitality oversees all aspects of consumer visits to our idyllic farmhouse brewery, and is tasked with creating an exceptional, elevated guest experience commensurate with the quality of our beer, while making a visit to Brewery Ommegang a must for beer lovers throughout the world.
    • Manage our primary onsite businesses:
    • Café
    • Tours / Retail store
    • On-site events / Catering
    • Manage Café, Tours and Retail and Special Events & Marketing managers
    • Work with the Café Manager to develop simple but memorable menus, expertly prepared, with quality, presentation and service second to none
    • Work with the Tours / Retail Manager to ensure that all guests receive consistent, accurate information from friendly, knowledgeable and engaging guides; ensure that merchandise is well-designed, well-executed, properly priced and effectively displayed
    • Work with the Special Events & Marketing Manager to develop, plan and execute a robust calendar of special, talk-worthy on-site experiences that will drive buzz and excitement among the broad craft beer audience and our local community
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for all consumer-facing employees, creating a culture of excellence at once demanding and rewarding, leading to enhanced performance and retention
    • Work with brewery leadership to establish annual Visitor Center business plans, preparing thorough and professional sales and financial projections
    • Develop and plan marketing and promotional activities to drive traffic, revenue and profitability within the context of a world-class guest experience
    • Understand, manage and analyze sales, labor, inventory and movement reports
    • Lead regular meetings to communicate company and department information to employees
    • Ensure compliance with HR, ADA, NYSLA building code, and health department regulations
    • Provide regular updates to brewery President on business performance, KPIs and personnel issues



    KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
    • Substantial leadership experience in a hospitality-oriented business: restaurant, retail and/or hospitality/hotel management
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Close alignment with company culture and values
    • Strong leadership and management skills; ability to foster integrity, respect, unity, creativity and fun
    • Self-motivated, able to work independently with limited direction
    • Able to collaborate and work cooperatively with management, peers, and across functions
    • Experience with cost accounting and budget development
