• Ensure an exceptional experience for all guests of the Ommegang café
• Collaborate with the General Manager to develop simple but memorable menus, expertly prepared, with quality, presentation and service second to none
• Hire and maintain team members dedicated to excellence
• Develop and implement a comprehensive staff training program; work with front- and back-of-house leads to provide clear and consistent direction; ensure that team members possess and display a superior knowledge of beer, food and proper service
• Manage schedules to maintain appropriate staffing levels at all times; review and approve payroll
• Carefully manage all costs to achieve and maintain targeted financial results
• Maintain current, accurate POS database
• Order and maintain appropriate inventories of food, beer, beverages, glassware, barware and supplies
• Ensure that the café is immaculate and well-organized at all times
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained; oversee cleaning and maintenance of beer lines
• Oversee content, design and production of menus
• Balance registers and report results to Finance
• Liaise closely with marketing team to ensure timely café marketing, advertising and promotional activities
• Lead regular meetings to communicate company and department information to employees
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Substantial experience in restaurant management
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent hospitality training
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Close alignment to company culture and values
• Strong leadership and management skills; ability to foster integrity, respect, unity, creativity and fun
