  • New brewpub opening in Charleston, SC area is seeking an experienced General Manager.

    Brewpub Overview
    • 7 - 10 BBL system
    • 8K sq. ft. premium building in a high growth area
    • 4.5K sq. ft. taproom with high end pub food
    • 500 sq. ft. kitchen
    • Equipment decision in process
    • Space build-out to commence shortly
    • Phase 1 will focus on on-premise sales and restaurant distribution
    • Phase 2 will include additional space, more brewery equipment and retail distribution

    Responsibilities
    • *Oversee all FOH and BOH within brewpub
    • Manage inventory and labor in accordance with company guidelines
    • Manage FOH employee schedule
    • Develop and plan marketing and promotional activities to drive traffic, revenue and profitability within the context of a world-class guest experience in conjunction with ownership
    • Understand, manage and analyze sales, labor, inventory and movement reports
    • Ensure company's adherence to quality, health, safety and financial performance standards
    • Oversee equipment and pest maintenance and master cleaning schedule
    • Work with brewery, Chef and ownership on operations and marketing special events and beer releases
    • Work with Office Manager / Bookkeeper on administration and operation such as employee file maintenance, payroll issues, etc.
    • Ensuring all employees live up to company standards of high quality, friendly service, respect, cleanliness
    • Lead regular meetings to communicate company and department information to employees
    • Provide regular updates to brewery President on business performance, KPIs and personnel issus

    Background / Experience
    • Minimum 5 years' experience running a Brewpub or restaurant
    • Start-up Brewpub expertise strongly preferred
    • Experience with payroll, Quickbooks and POS software
    • Knowledge of and appreciation for craft beer
    • College degree in business management, hospitality or culinary field preferred
    • Experience with budgeting and inventory management
    • Outstanding ability to lead, direct and develop staff
    • Knowledge of bar & restaurant industry trends, government regulations, health department codes
    • Lean Six Sigma and focus on continuous improvement experience preferred; demonstrated focus on safety required
