Commonwealth Brewing Company, located in Virginia Beach VA, is a two year old, rapidly growing production brewery with a 20bbl brewhouse, 12k BBL planned annual capacity, a mature sour barrel cellar and bottle program and canning operations. We focus in a wide variety of styles and experimental beers including hop forward, lagers, Belgian, stouts, foraged and barrel/foeder aged sours.
We are seeking an experienced, full-time Production Manager/Brewer for immediate hire. Self-motivated, hard-working, passionate, enthusiastic, team oriented and reliable candidates are encouraged to apply. Dedication to learning, ability to work well as a part of a team, and good attitude are a must.
This position will include all aspects of production planning, recipe formulation, inventory management, wort production, cellar work, basic lab work, packaging, and brewery sanitation.
Requirements:
Minimum 4-year production brewing experience
Experience with a wide variety of beer style recipe formulation, brewing and wood aged beers
Supply chain management experience
Inventory management
Tax Reporting
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean record
Critical thinking and problem solving skills
Dedication to cleaning and sanitizing
Can lift 55 lbs. frequently and move up to 170 lbs.
Computer spreadsheet literate
Possess effective communication skills
Possess effective writing skills
Production team leadership and task management
Must be able to manage others, multi task and manage time independently
Forklift operation experience
Desired Capabilities:
Experience with Ekos Production Management Software
Barrel aged sour beer production experience
