ABOUT US
Kabrew is one of the first generation craft breweries in South Korea, established in year 2000. We currently are the largest craft breweries in South Korea in terms of sales volume as well as sales coverage and have two breweries in Ga-pyeong, Gyeonggi province (an hour from Metropolitan Seoul, where lives over 10 million people). FYI, annual production volume was roughly at 12,000 hl in 2016 and is targeted to be over 15,000 hl in 2017.
On back of fast growth of Korea craft beer industry, we‘ve already completed our 2nd brewery this year and are also looking to strengthen our brewing team with experienced Head brewer, who can lead our quality of beer to the world-class. The right candidate will have a passion for building top-notch company, a desire to experiment, a deep understanding of all aspects of the brewing process (scheduling, ingredients, brewing, cellaring, packaging), strong communication skill with a positive attitude, and open mind for Korean culture.
Specifically, we are expecting a person with the ability to create and implement quality control processes, and experiences with sours and barrel aging.
JOB REQUIRMENTS
> Education and Experience: 5+ years of experience in a production brewery. Formal brewing education and experience at renowned brewery is preferred. Comfortable with strong QC procedures. 1+ years working with barrel fermentation and aging, as well as bacterial cultures. Strong desire for challenge for new style beer.
> Leadership: Looking for moderate leadership for family-like culture with current employees
> Physical: Comfortable lifting and maneuvering malt, kegs, and oak barrels (55+ pounds repeatedly). Proper handling of hazardous materials, and operation of machinery.
> Working hours: Flexible schedule, although will require evening and weekend shifts from time to time. May require attendance to festival and trade shows, as well as some education related events for staff / customers.
> Commitment: We are hoping to find someone who is interested in spending at least 1 year abroad and is comfortable with the stresses of living in a foreign country. Our team will assist with most of headaches though.
Criminal record check, and drug screening are required by Korean Law.

> Brewing: We currently brew most extensive line up among Korean craft breweries (15+ beers), and we expect our head brewer to improve the quality of our beers to the top-notch. We are also anxious to expand our line up by working with you including high ABVs, sour offerings, as well as barrel aging beers.
> Compensation: Competitive compensation with American standards – with additional consideration for relocation(ex. flight tickets for holiday, free accomodation etc. All options open to be disscussed and depend on your cureer), and performance based bonuses. Health care included. Free Korean lunch and free beer. Also, all the level of compensation open to be negotiable depend on your career.
> Environment: Culturally we are a small company with family-like environment. Most of employees are very young with passion and love for craft beer.
