KOMBUCHA BREWERY PACKAGING MANAGER
NOTE: 2-4 Years experience running an automatic packaging line in a production setting. Knowledge of FDA GMPs and brewery SOPs is mandatory.
Rowdy Mermaid Kombucha is a craft kombucha brewery located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. Rowdy Mermaid produces 6 bottled flavors and 10 kegged flavors of kombucha, and we are sold in a dozen states in the Rocky Mountain and Southern California regions. We operate a tight turnaround schedule for production and we often work on weekends or erratic schedules as needed. We are seeking a qualified, experienced and outgoing Packaging Manager who will work under the direction of the Brewmaster.
The Packaging Manager is responsible for transferring product into packaging brites, managing glycol header and PID controllers, overseeing carbonation, measuring bars, adjusting product and tanks as needed, setting up and running packaging line, overseeing packaging employees, filling out SOPs, bottling logs, packaging logs, and being 100% responsible for all good leaving the factory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Pumping liquids
CIPing tanks
Glycol control
Repairing and PMing all equipment
Setting up bottling line
Overseeing and working on line
Problem solving issues with temperature and C02 saturation
Problem solving bottling line and keg filling equipment
Overseeing staff
Auditing production line
Staff auditing
Cooler arrangement FIFO
Filling out shipping logs
Filling out SOPs
Moving product onto trucks
Ensuring packaging warehouse is 100% clean and auditable
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:
2+ years of related packaging experience
Must have experience with CIP, brewery pumps, brewery equipment, brewery chemical regimes, food safety and GMPs
Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and materials identification
Must be able to effectively communicate in English
Must have manual dexterity and an inborn technical capacity
Extreme attention to detail
Enthusiasm and strong knowledge of the kombucha or brewing industry is preferred
Ability to change tasks quickly and still maintain attention
Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds
Ability to stand for long periods
Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, compressors, and computers
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The environment is inside a set of warehouses overlooking the Flatiron Mountains. The warehouse has moderate lighting, often loud music, and deliveries coming and going. Employee is required to know and understand manufacturing GMPs, have the ability to read and understand SOPs, and have the ability to write SOPs. All employees are required to wear goggles, steel-toed boots, jumpsuits, and hairnets when inside the brewery.
