    JOB TITLE: Maintenance Planner Lead
    LOCATION: Brewery, Comstock, MI
    REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
    FLSA POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Hourly Non-exempt
    SHIFT: 1st Shift (Monday –Friday)
    EXTERNAL POSTING DATES: 11/22/2017-12/10/2017

    POSITION SUMMARY: Primary area of focus will be the organization, implementation and maintenance of a new CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Leads the development and improvement of preventative and scheduled maintenance plans for the upkeep and repair of equipment and maintains parts inventories. Coordinates PM’s and Break/Fixes amongst the affected departments and shifts. Will lead and participate in planning activities/duties surrounding Packaging, Brewing, Cellaring, the Cube, Critical Systems and all Tool Room functions.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    •Adheres to and advances the “Safety Always” culture of Bell’s Brewery, Inc., and is accountable for the safety of their team.
    •Promotes an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork within the department and the company.
    •Advocates a continuous improvement culture throughout his/her team.
    •Actively engages team members towards developing their professional goals.
    •Conducts annual performance reviews with all direct reports.
    •Coordinates with HR and Maintenance Manager for interviewing and hiring of all new staff.
    •Monitors their staffs attendance records and performance through documentation and reports any problems to the Maintenance Manager.
    •Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager to effect disciplinary measures when necessary.
    •Maintains an up-to-date and efficient CMMS.
    •Maintains critical information on installed equipment via CMMS.
    •Develops preventative maintenance schedules and schedules maintenance plans according to equipment availability.
    •Ensures accurate parts inventories, including critical spares, kitted parts for planned projects, develops minimum/ maximum parts levels, and researches alternative parts and pricing.
    •Works with the Maintenance Planner and ensures that maintenance calibration schedules for new and existing equipment continue to meet business needs and efficiencies.
    •Coordinates with Procurement and Production scheduler to ensure Beer Production, Shipping, and maintenance needs are met.
    •Maintains contractor relationships, agreements, and hires outside contractors, as needed.
    •Works at and monitors all parts storage areas, and oversees general cleaning and organization.
    •Works cross-departmentally to ensure effective communication between Beer Production, Packaging, Scheduling, the Maintenance Planner and other Shift Leads within the Maintenance Department.
    •Available for potential after-hours and weekend emergency duties.

    MATERIALS/MACHINES/EQUIPMENT USED:
    •MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
    •Fork and scissor lifts
    •INFOR, Microsoft AX, or other CMMS.

    IMPORTANT SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    •Exceptional leadership skills.
    •Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable addressing diverse groups
    •Strong computer skills necessary to quickly learn Bells’ software systems.
    •An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards who will positively represent Bell’s Brewery both internally and externally.
    •A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
    •Skills applicable to general maintenance functions. This skill set should include mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, pneumatics, pipefitting, and boiler/steam.
    •Working knowledge of packaging/process equipment including: electrical controls, process instrumentation, Programmable Logical Controllers.
    •Experience in a production packaging environment with an understanding of lock-out/tag-out and other core safety issues.
    •Exceptional time management skills with a proven ability to plan, organize and prioritize work load to balance multiple projects
    •Ability to coordinate with other departments according to schedule.

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
    •Minimum of 5 years of experience in preventative maintenance/planning.
    •Prior experience in maintenance, repair, engineering, or related field.
    •Formal maintenance education, training, certifications, or accreditation, a plus.
    •Prior experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS).
    •Previous Management/Leadership experience.
    •A high level of professionalism.

    •Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms. Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
    •Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
    •The work environment is usually that of a production brewery & surrounding grounds.
    •The employee frequently must work in a sterile environment.
    •The noise level in certain parts of the brewery is occasionally loud (80+ dB).
    •The employee occasionally works around high voltage, flame, hot water, and steam.
    •The employee occasionally works with hazardous materials.
    •The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
    •The employee works on wet floors and with wet equipment.
