    Job Title: Entry-Level Production Assistant / Cellarman
    Reports To: Head Brewer

    Position Summary

    True North Ale Company is offering an exciting entry level opportunity for an energetic go-getter ready to help chart the course of a new craft brewery. We are seeking the person who craves a challenge and can contribute to building a passionate but fun culture. The Cellarman will assist with various brewery operations. Primary duties will be concentrated in brewery production, including keg washing, keg and can packaging, and handling finished products. Secondary duties include routine equipment maintenance, unloading and storing supplies, and maintaining a safe and clean brewing facility. The Cellarman should expect to work a minimum of 40 hours/week, and up to 12 hours a day in accordance with the production schedule.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Washing kegs following strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    Filling kegs to product specifications following proper SOPs
    Palletizing of finished canned product and assisting in all canning operations
    Operating the forklift to transport materials, kegs and pallets of cans
    Truck unloading of raw material and loading of finished product with forklift
    Assisting in cellar (CIP, yeast harvest, dry hop, cone dump, carbonation), brewhouse (malt milling, raw material handling), and lab (gravities, pH, cell counts, micro) operations when required
    Contribution to detailed data tracking in all operations
    Coordination with fellow operators in all departments, offering assistance when needed
    Frequent problem solving
    Maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and positive work environment
    Apply best safety practices including knowledge of and compliance with all SOPs and GMPs

    Qualifications

    A record demonstrating a strong work-ethic and commitment
    Knowledge and passion with respect to the brewing process is preferred; or demonstrated aptitude to respond to training
    Forklift certification / experience is preferred
    Previous brewery, commercial beverage production, or other industrial experience is a plus
    Brewery education a plus



    Working Conditions

    Operate in hot and cold, loud, and wet environments
    Handling concentrated chemicals in accordance with safety procedures
    Inconsistent work schedule, including overtime, in accordance with production needs

    Physical Requirements

    Must be able to stand for the entire shift, up to 12 hours
    Consistently lift and carry 15 lbs, lift 55 lb bags of grain
    Stoop, kneel, bend in confined spaces where required
    Frequent washing of hands
    Consistently able to use repetitive hand and wrist motion
