Overall Responsibilities
Manages daily, weekly and monthly micro sampling for Brewery. Will oversee overall beer production and packaged goods. Responsible for the measuring and reporting of data collected.

Standard Lab environment (it has beakers and everything!) attached to production environment
Both Hot/Cold Environments. We don’t have AC so whatever the weather is like outside, it’ll be inside.
It will smell like beer and/or hops, delicious, delicious beer and/or hops.

Overall Responsibilities
Manages daily, weekly and monthly micro sampling for Brewery. Will oversee overall beer production and packaged goods. Responsible for the measuring and reporting of data collected.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Perform microbiological testing, recording, and reporting for in process and finished goods
- Yeast health management and monitoring
- Maintaining of the lab and associated equipment
- Participate in ongoing product and process improvement efforts
- Sample collection at various points during process
- Perform project work as needed
- You get to taste beer… during the day! (for quality and science purposes only!)
- Ability to work and communicate with all levels of Production personnel
- Train and develop brewers on sampling and analysis as needed
Qualifications
- BS in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or Food Sciences is required
- Experience in QC/QA in the food/beverage industry is desired
- Experienced with the use of laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Experience with HLP, WLD, WLN media
- Sensory panel training and experience is desired
- A love of science and beer… and a willingness to call it “beerience” (this is actually not necessary)
- Experienced with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
