When de-gassing gravity (°P) samples, does anyone use a rotary shaker? If so, I'm interested in what brand/model you use and if you deem it sufficient. We are looking to adhere to ASBC Methode - Beer 1D "Decarbonation by a Rotary Shaker" (unfortunately we cannot afford a Density Meter at this time).
In the past, we allow our samples to percolate through filter paper. In addition to our observing inconsistent results, I read that ASBC views this as a high residual CO2 method.
