    Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company is seeking an experienced and/or educated brewer desiring a brewing position within “large” volume pub environment - to begin in Late-May 2018. The brewer will work along-side our senior brewer and report to the Director of Brewing.

    Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company was established in Glenwood Springs, Colorado in 1996. We are a “large” brewpub producing 1000 + bbls a year - served on premise in our 200 seat restaurant. We are the most awarded brewery on the Western Slope of Colorado, having won 22 major brewing awards at Great American Beer Festival and/or World Beer Cup. We produce eight different beers, with 4 regular beers and 4 rotating seasonal beers, including our alpha-beta: hop project and our spirit/wine barrel aged beers with an ever expanding cellar.

    Position Responsibilities: Our brewer applicants can expect to be hands-on from grain to glass.

    - Wort production: Safely organize, mill, mash, sparge, boil, pump, cool, and heat. Make water chemistry adjustments, instrumentation readings and proper record keeping. Also complete brewhouse CIP, parts COP, and sanitation.

    - Cellar work: Safely organize and complete filtration, beer transfers, barrel filling and emptying, dry-hopping, fining, yeast harvesting and management, kegging and racking. Keep proper records, taxed beer volumes and charting. Also, complete tank CIPs, parts COPs and sanitation.

    - Lab Work: Safely perform critical lab work including, cell counting and staining, Anton Paar density meter readings, hydrometer readings, sanitary sampling, force ferment testing, incubations, plating, culturing and pH measurements.

    - Packaging: Safely, prepare beer-to-go - Growler and Crowler filling and seaming with seamer maintenance. Keg filling and record keeping.

    - Inventory: Safely receive raw materials and chemicals, rotate, stock and organize while keeping working inventory and records.

    - Draught maintenance: Safety and maintenance of draught beer lines, TDTs, faucets, couplers, FOBs and associated equipment for clean and proper serving of draught beer.

    - Mechanical Aptitude: Safely inspect and perform preventative maintenance on pumps, drives, motors, boiler, condensate return pumps, steam traps, mill, grain elevator, draught system, glycol pumps, chillers, and evaporator coils.

    - Other Expectations and Physical Requirements: Safely lift 55 pounds, climb stairs, ramps and ladders. Safely stoop, kneel, crouch and or crawl. Rotating weekend work will be expected. Safely work in cold, warm and hot environments within the same shift. Participate in blind tasting panel and CCP tasting throughout in-process production. Occasionally participate in beer festivals, social events, beer dinners, beer tours, and other beer related events while interacting with the public. Expect to participate and implement new process and technologies.

    Requirements: Formal brewing education or 1-2 years working experience is desired. Ability to frequently lift 55 pounds, twist tri-clamps and maneuver full kegs.
