    Tuckahoe Brewing Company is looking for an experienced, ambitious head brewer to lead our Production Team as we enter our next phase of growth in the burgeoning beer scene in Egg Harbor Township, NJ., a mere 15 minute drive from Atlantic City. We are committed to providing an active and energetic work environment for a candidate who is both an intelligent beer lover and an inspiring team leader. We are looking for someone who is excited about both helping grow Tuckahoe Brewing Company from within our 10,000 sq ft facility and embracing the local beer loving community.

    Essential Regular Duties and Responsibilities
    • Schedule and manage documentation of all production operations
    • Assist and oversee the expansion of our production space
    • Assist in forecasting of beer needs
    • Manage brewery staff members (assist in hiring/promotion/training of brewery staff; assist in training of all employees on proper SOP’s; manage employee schedules and attendance; enforce company policies and SOP’s; ensure brewery staff safety)
    • Lead and execute the brewing process on our 15bbl DME brewhouse in a safe and efficient manner. This includes, but is not limited to, malt preparation and milling, mashing, lautering, wort production and boiling, cooling and transferring to fermenters
    • Manage and implement CIP of brewhouse and cellaring tanks
    • Manage and implement best practices in transferring, carbonating, kegging and packaging beer
    • Participate in company meetings
    • Work closely with and report directly to our owners.
    • Handle and manage yeast propagation and storage by following proper harvesting, pitching, and disposal procedures. This will include using lab equipment to test both yeast count and cell health
    • Develop and implement recipes
    • Manage inventory of raw materials including ordering ingredients from vendors
    • Supervise and execute all cellaring duties from monitoring gravities to packaging finished beer
    • Communicate effectively with staff, owners, and customers
    • Work independently to manage the production team
    • Arrive on time to each shift with a positive attitude
    • Represent Tuckahoe Brewing at events or festivals
    • Attend conferences or professional development opportunities


    Required Minimum Qualifications
    • Two years of experience working in a production team at a brewery that produces and packages 1,000 bbls annually
    • Valid driver’s license with no restrictions
    • Able to work in an environment with a moderate to loud noise level
    • Able to work in an environment with slight temperature variations during the seasons
    • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds, and be able to move up to 165 pounds with tools such as hand truck or forklift
    • Able to kneel and stoop occasionally
    • Able to stand and work for up to 12 hours at a time
