  • Geo Wiedemann Brewing Co. Cincinnati Ohio Tap Room Manager

    Taproom Manager - Fulltime
    Background
Wiedemann Brewery is a soon-to-open brewery in St. Bernard, a close-in urban suburb five miles north of downtown Cincinnati. Our target launch date is late March 2018.
The brewery complex at 4811 Vine St. is at the crossroads of several major highways and urban thoroughfares and sits at the dead center of St. Bernard’s safe and walkable business district. It will feature a multi-room taproom in a 100-year-old brick building, a 1,000SF outdoor sundeck, and a 10,000SF tree-lined beer garden for on-site beer drinking and entertainment. It also has a full-service kitchen and event space with room for 125-plus people. The brewing and packaging operations will occupy a newly built 3,000SF addition and a renovated basement.
The new Wiedemann Brewery is reviving the Wiedemann’s Fine Beer brand that began in 1870 in Newport, Ky., across the Ohio River from downtown Cincinnati. Wiedemann’s was famous for its flagship Wiedemann’s Bohemian Special Brew, a full-flavored sessionable lager. We intend to appeal to tens of thousands of loyal Wiedemann fans across the region, many of whom do not yet frequent craft brewery taprooms, as well as a thriving community of craft beer enthusiasts. Our goal is to give them all an opportunity to enjoy a wide range of beers in a lively and inviting drinking environment reminiscent of the days when neighborhood taverns were popular community gathering spots. Hence, our brand tagline – “Let’s Get Together.”
The premise of our brewing philosophy is to develop beers that embrace all facets of the beer drinking experience. These beers will be new to the world in their uniqueness and will highlight original recipes that focus on flavor over style definition. Our vision statement captures our approach:
At Wiedemann, our aim is to modify beer and how it is perceived by defying rules and expectations. We aren’t slaves to style guidelines and refuse to bend to pre-conceived notions of what beer should be. We have no hesitation to push past traditional brewing practices by embracing creativity and free-spirited experimentation -- taking an innovative approach to ingredients and techniques to harness raw inspiration and create new and unique beer experiences.

    Job purpose
We believe the Wiedemann taproom will be a key part of our success as it will likely provide the primary exposure many consumers have to our beers and the revived Wiedemann’s brand. The Taproom Manager will be responsible for making the taproom experience – whether inside or outside on the deck or in the beer garden -- nothing short of exceptional.
The Taproom Manager ensures smooth operation of the taproom by making sure it is appropriately staffed, that bartenders and servers have what they need to successfully and efficiently complete their tasks, that the environment is comfortable and entertaining, that the beers are at their absolute best, and that unforeseen needs are addressed quickly.
