Salty Turtle Beer Company is a veteran owned and operated 3 bbl brewery located in Surf City, NC (Topsail Island). Currently all beer produced in the brewery is exclusively being sold in the taproom with future plans to distribute as we see fit. Due to the increasing demand around the area for locally brewed beer we are looking for a Part-Time Assistant Brewer that can work well with our Production Manager/Co-Owner as we gear up for the Spring/Summer tourist season. Salty Turtle has had its doors open for less than two months and is hoping to seek out highly qualified individuals to grow within our brewery. We are currently seeking a motivated, passionate, and energetic person to assist with all areas of preparation and facilitation of beer for service in our taproom and promotional events. Hours will vary throughout the week, evening, morning, weekends, etc. So a flexible schedule is a must. As already stated this will start as a part time position and hopefully develop into a full time position relatively soon.
Qualified Individuals Will:
- Be passionate about the craft beer culture and company.
- Have knowledge of and experience with the brewing process and the production of beer.
- Be a fast learner with the ability to retain information and details.
- Have knowledge of draft equipment and maintenance.
- Have a creative mind and bring energy to brewers meetings in which we develop beer concepts and work on recipe formulation.
- Be thorough, diligent, and clean with excessive attention to detail.
- Be able to lift up to 55 pounds regularly and work in cramped, tight spaces.
- Be at least 21 years of age, honest, work well with others, and help to foster a positive environment with a team mentality.
Responsibilities Include:
- Regular cleaning and servicing of draft lines and draft equipment.
- Stocking inventory while maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Performing regular maintenance on equipment in the taproom and brewery.
- Assisting brew team with various activities to facilitate beer production and brewery cleanliness.
- Working with chemicals, pumps, contents under pressure, and other various hazards in a safe and professional manner while following standard operating procedures and product specifications.
- Conducting quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure product quality.
- Continually learning about craft beer, the industry, and brewing practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
