    Blue Mountain Brewery and South Street Brewery, located in Central Virginia, are jointly a seeking Virginia Sales Manager to join our dynamic team.

    Overview of the Position

    Blue Mountain Brewery and South Street Brewery are hiring a full-time Sales Manager, a position covering the entire state of Virginia. The ideal candidate will live in the Richmond, Northern Virginia or Charlottesville area and will work directly with our Vice President of Sales, Sales Representatives and wholesaler teams across the state. This position will be responsible for managing 5 sales reps, increasing on- and off-premise placements within territories, maintaining a working relationship with wholesaler partners and continuing brand education for their sales staff, and maintaining and building relationships with key accounts.

    Requirements

    • Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience
    • 3-5 years of craft beer sales and distribution
    • Experienced in VIP and Excel
    • Excellent written and oral communication
    • Certified Cicerone or similar training preferred but not required
    • Ability to Lift 40 lbs. and move 160 lbs. safely
    • Must have a clean driving record
    • Passion for good beer and meeting new people
    • Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time, including some weekends


    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as a leader and manage a collection of 5 sales representatives within Virginia
    • Manage relationships with key accounts
    • Present to VP of Sales and brewery owners quarterly reviews on all sales territories, sales representatives and wholesalers
    • Maintain and expand distribution within the given territory
    • Meet and exceed volume goals within each brand portfolio
    • Work with our wholesaler and continuously concentrate on:
    o Increasing draft presence in each market
    o Increasing package presence in each market
    • Develop expert beer knowledge and understanding of our portfolio.
    • Spend 1-2 days a month with each sales rep selling in the marketplace
    • Coordinate and manage our event marketing efforts alongside our Marketing Director and VP of Sales
    • Review weekly reports from sales reps
    • Manage the performance of existing sales representatives and keeps them appropriately motivated
    • Communicate relevant information to VP of Sales and/or brewery owners regarding accounts, products, opportunities, etc.
    • Develop key on-premise accounts in each territory and maintain strong key-account retailer relationships to increase sales
    • Plan and execute promotional events with key retailers within territory
    • Completely understand and embrace the Blue Mountain and South Streets brands and cultures, and continually educate our wholesalers, retailers, and fans
    • Analyze brand/market performance metrics and make organized, informed recommendations for improvement
    • Review and understand all legal restrictions regarding brewery products in each market and ensure all initiatives are executed within those limitations
