    Orleans Brewing Co. is a small craft brewery in Ottawa operating since June 2017 and, in transition from contract brewing to an independently owned and operational brewery.

    Orleans Brewing Company has an immediate opening for a part-time Bookkeeper.

    Reporting directly to the brewery founder, you will be responsible for:
    • Processing and managing day-to-day accounting functions and practices in a fast-paced environment, with an exceptional ability to prioritize and multi-task meeting tight deadlines.
    • Processing accounts payable and receivable and managing invoices and tax payments
    • Providing accurate operational financial management by overseeing and verifying accounting data through all financial information systems and software, while maintaining the integrity of the financial statements, spreadsheets and meeting government reporting requirements
    • Completing weekly bank reconciliations, process deposits and overseeing cash transactions
    • Collecting and entering data in databases and maintaining accurate records of information for reporting purposes
    • Processing all government remittances including HST, Payroll Liabilities, Record of Employments, WSIB, EHT, AGCO Beer Tax, and Excise Duty
    • Managing payroll data integrity and processes
    • Maintaining accurate Chart of Account data and reallocation for over 100 accounts
    • Tracking capital asset expenditures for potential grant and expansion capacities
    • Regulating all inventory asset and adjustment valuations
    • Facilitating the fiscal year end processes and procedures
    • Review current processes to determine areas for inefficiencies
    • Setting up accounting software as well as: appropriate expense and income accounts and linking them for efficient reporting and analysis

The successful candidate will have:
    1. Minimum of 3 years of work experience in an similar role
    2. Experience in brewery and brewpub bookkeeping
    3. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
    4. Experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation
    5. Experience using QUICKBOOKS accounting software (or similar)
    6. Superior attention to detail amidst tight deadlines
    7. Ability to learn new systems, processes and information quickly
    8. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    9. Bilingualism is an asset.



Candidate should be preferably located in Ottawa, but telecommuting is a possibility for the immediate future.
