    JOB TITLE: Cellar Person

    LOCATION: Brewery, Short Fuse Brewing Company, Schiller Park, Illinois

    REPORTS TO: Shift Lead and Brew Master

    FLSA POSITION TYPE: Full Time

    SHIFT: Monday - Friday (9:00am – 6:00pm)

    The Cellar Worker is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing fermentation and conditioning tanks, as well as transferring beer from tank to tank, ensuring the beer is transferred slowly and in a sanitary manner. The Cellar Worker is also responsible for monitoring the fermentation of beer, the cooling of fermenting and conditioning beer, and carbonating beer to the correct level. The Cellar Worker also cleans and sanitizes product lines and other equipment as well as the general working environment in the cellar.

    Other duties of the Cellar Worker include cleaning the floors, outsides of tanks, miscellaneous parts, floor drains, catwalks, filtration equipment, brewer’s office work area, cellar racks, and containers and so on. In addition, the Cellar Worker is also responsible for assisting packaging, production and other brewery related tasks that are not directly listed in the duties listed.

    Applicants must have:

    • Mechanically inclined.

    • Willingness to work at a VERY fast pace, yet be precise in your daily tasks.

    • STRONG cleaning/sanitizing background.

    •Outstanding communication and problem solving skills.

    • Flexible availability. Shifts may include overnights, nights, and weekends.

    • Self-starter who is willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

    • Desire to keep learning and make a positive impact.

    • Experience with barrel aging beers a plus.

    • A sense of humor, really helps a lot.



    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    • Candidates need to be able to lift up to 100 pounds, be able to twist and turn, be able to reach over your shoulders, and work in standing/walking/ crouching position at a steady pace and love to clean.

    • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

    • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts.

    • Ability to work in a moderate noise level.

    •Computer and other process automation systems.

    •Cleaning and Sanitizing Chemicals

    •Pumps, hoses, valves, clamps, gaskets, and other brewery equipment

    •Fork lift
