Steelhead Brewing Co. is looking for a Head Brewer to oversee its 14 bbl JVNW brewery in Burlingame, Ca. 94010
This position involves hands-on, all encompassing production of existing award-winning recipes, as well as development and production of new and creative seasonal beers.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
~ Oversee and execute all aspects involved in the production of Steelhead beer
~ Manage production scheduling, inventory and consumable ordering
~ Maintain a high level of sanitation, quality control and lab work standards
~ Complete all required paperwork in a timely and thorough manor, keep detailed records
~ Appear or participate in promotional or industry events, as required
~ Work a flexible schedule, as required, including some evenings and or weekends
~ Follow all safety procedures and MSD reporting requirements
Experience and Education:
~ Minimum 2 years production experience in a professional brewing environment (i.e. head or assistant brewer)
~ Professional brewing education or equivalent experience preferred
Position Expectations:
~ Brewer must possess good organizational and time management skills
~ Good interpersonal communication and problem solving abilities
~ Willingness to adhere to formulated trademarked recipes, while developing new and creative recipes, using a wide variety of ingredients
~ Have a high level of mechanical aptitude, as it relates to all aspects of brewing equipment
~ Ability to lift heavy loads, traverse stairs and ladders – Safely stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl – Work in cold, warm and hot (steam) environments within a respective shift
~ Forklift training certification a plus
